Subject:Re: E3 key repaired

When I did a similar fix on my Electro 2, I found a lot of dust specks all around inside, and I suppose that this is something that has to be dealt with from time to time, cleaning key contacts. I used a light camel-hair type brush where others have used compressed air.
(I took some photos of the operation and wrote a few words, uploaded to the Electro group's files section.)
Now, where the upper metal cover meets the keyboard, there is a small gap, which can allow dust to can get in. A year ago I bought a Roland digital piano, and they have a strip of felt sealing the same gap (except for the brief moment when you play a key). I wonder if it would do well to copy Roland and glue a felt strip to the upper metal cover to seal that gap on my Nord.
I do keep dust covers on my keyboards when not playing them, and I see that the Nord has ventilation slots underneath, so I would imagine that heat accumulation may be deleterious to the instrument if it were completely sealed. Any learned comments?
Thanks
Ron
