Those were pretty much my impressions of the XK-1. I bought mine prior to the introduction of the Vent and hoped to use it as a "lighter" replacement for my XK-3 (which I liked a lot ... except for the weight). Using it with a real leslie or a vent and tube preamp it sounded pretty good, but by itself it was just a drag to play.
