I'm betting that should be 6.3 volts
Check the tube's requirement before buying a filiment transformer
(AFAIK, 5.3 is not a supported volage)

Subject: [CWSG] Another tube question

Hi,

I use a Hugh&Kettner Crunchmaster (production around 1988-1992) as a
preamp for my Leslie 760.

Recently I sent it to get it repaired because it didn`t work any more (the
tubes didn`t glow). H&K sent it back telling me that the heating voltage of the
transformer was gone They couldn`t repair it because because they didn't
have any transformers left.

In the schematics the heating is said to be 5,3 Volts. I'm thinking of putting a
small additional transformer in the Crunchmaster in order to replace the
missing heating voltage. The Crunchmaster contains an ECC83 and an
EL84.

I wonder if

a) it is ok to repair it like this?

b) what kind of transformer I need (how many ampere)?

Thanks, Wolfgang
