At this point, that's the superlative clone alternative: Xk3 and leslie. You've got good strong midrange, very good percussion, decent (not great by any means) C/V, interface, and of course the real thing in a leslie. The XK3's leslie sim for me is absolutely useless, but I loved the XK3 through my Speakeasy into my Bulldog leslie, and thought it was killer through my RB3.
Even if you don't have the luxury of playing b3s ALL the time, any clone is a compromise. But let's face, whether we admit or not, if you're not taking a B3 and a leslie, then compromise is what you're after, whether it's for convenience, weight, or portability. Take the leslie out of the equation, and the C1 is pretty enticing.
That said, I got to use my just acquired Midi Drawbar Unit last nite on the Electro, and it just upped the ante again for me. You forget how integral drawvbars are until you have them again.(*well, you don't forget, but you remember how inpirational they are)

All good points.
But, I won't use gear that doesn't sound good. It will go back.
And I will use my XK3 and Leslie which are perfectly acceptable B3
substitutes based on good sound values and simulations. And, yes, I realize
that is a very subjective ideal.
As a side note, I remember MANY years ago when I played B and kicked pedals
in a rock band. At that time, and with the limited technology that now seems
ancient, I could never imagine how anyone could replicate the sound of a B3
and a good acoustic piano.
IMO, digital pianos are darn near close the real thing. Somehow simulations
of the B have been all over the map and most are close but missing something
in one area or another.
I realize the Electro is what it is. I simply expected too much.
OTOH, I was disappointed in the new B3; both in action and in sound. I guess
that says it all.
