Subject:OT: Ebay scammers (was SE-VTP for sale)
I thought I should clear something up just in case anyone may have gotten
the wrong idea. If you look at the auction, you can see that auction ended
with Buy It Now. The user who pressed that button then demanded that I ship
the item that same day and to some other country (his address showed he
lived within the US).And he asked that I use another shipping service that
wasn't even listed on my auction. For some reason he didn't want to go thru
Ebay's payment process, he asked that I give him my PayPal ID name. I stated
in my auction that I would only ship within the US and the shipping services
I could use. However, I told him if he insisted that I ship to this other
address, he would have to make all shipping arrangements. Later that evening
I went to check if he had paid for the item yet. He did not, and beside his
name it said he was no longer registered. I immediately filed a non-payment
complaint and was refunded the Final Value Fee (whatever they call it).
One thing I did learn from this experience though was that I shouldn't list
my email address on an auction and should request that all questions be
directed thru "Ask Seller A Question" or "Contact Seller". That way, any
emails that were exchanged during the transaction will be "on the record".
This user repeatedly emailed me thru my email address, which is partly my
fault because I allowed it.
So I thought I should clear the record in case anyone noticed that I said I
was selling my SE-VTP, then I turn around and send it off to Speakeasy for
an upgrade.
