Subject:Re: MS Pro-145 preamp upgrade
Hi Dave,
Thanks for advising me Speakeasy preamp. I wrote them a letter describing my
problem
and that's what i got from Steve :
"
Sorry the motion Sound needs to be buried. Use our preamp to drive your 145
Or buy the RBIII. The preamp is built in. Cost is 2495.00 / 220 option is 99
00.
shayes"
I have asked if they have anything that can improve the sound of
XK-3/Pro-145, but as you can see there is nothing about
resolving a problem. I'm not familiar with what they produce, and I'm sure It
s a good product, but...
I like the way Pro-145 built and like idea of it. I use to own and use all
kind of things, including Leslie 2101,but from all these little things I
like Pro-145 much better.
Of course there is always a shortest way but drugging a real Leslie speaker,
but I do travel a lot and size and weight mean a lot when
it comes to airport and luggage department.
Besides, I honestly do not think of Pro-145 as a piece of shit. I think it
only misses a god preamp.
I did not tweak speed adjustments, and my settings are:
bass at 2 o'clock
middle at 12
treble at 3 o'clock
high cut at 2 o'clock
horn at 3 o'clock
preamp mode is "I"
gain at 11 o'clock
volume at 2 o'clock
And I replaced mics with AKG D-11 and D-12
Boris.
-Hi Boris -
Maybe one of the Speakeasy preamps will work for you. They have the xk3
pretty much
covered with that preamp I hear. How do you have your controls set on the
pro145?
