Subject:Re: BX-3 & PK5
As you'll note in my 2nd most recent post, it's a done deal. I've told others "I always wanted to die owning a Hammond". Don't mean to be morbid, but I sold my last B-3 with much relutance. I'll never part with a Hammond again.
The dealer? Gold as far as I'm concerned. Never had a problem, and he has my full trust. I certainly would have preferred to see and play what I purchase first, but it wasn't an option.
The mystery Hammond I'm seeking information on was really what I wanted to begin with... a living room piece. The Korg seemed perfect. Didn't find the mystery Hammond 'til after I placed the order. I would never back out, and besides, I do needed something to take to jam sessions. That's why the Korg BX-3 was my initial choice. I'm hopeing I can swing both. I feel confident the XK-3 will be equal to the BX-3. I would hope Hammond makes an even better clone of what had been their company's product. There was a UK site that said (in 2005) a wood stand is/was available. Gotta check with the dealer.
Sincere thanks for this down-to-earth advice.

However, don't rely to heavily on a manufacturer's
reputation. That can easily change, and at the end of
the day, the manufacturer is not who will be there for
you if you have a problem. It is the dealer. No matter
which product you purchase, I suggest that you look to
your local dealer for all that you can: good
purchasing advice, warranty back-up, after-sales
service and user questions/issues, and even education.
Even if you have to pay a bit more to do business
locally, it is worth it in the long run.
