Subject:VK-8M pedal tones & eBay deal $

I was able to get a knowledgeable tech on the phone at Roland, 1-323-
890-3700 ext 2463 for keys/synth. Some just read from the onscreen
data base, others seem to know more of what they're talking about.
This tech said a merge box with 3 channels into 1 connected to the VK-
8M's midi In would provide the VK-77 sound engine pedal tones on the
3rd channel all the way down to C-0. He was in agreement with
the "virtual" lowest 12 tonewheel combined harmonics the VK-77 sound
engine uses to generate pedal tones, emulating a Hammond.

I found what I think is a very good deal on the VK-8M module on eBay,
a "New/Store Demo" for $649.99 with $18.96 shipping, New York to
California: $686.95. At the price, I could resell it, give or take a
few $, so I bought this one. The eBay shop seems to be a deep
discount small operation, as they have a list of items all
sold "New/Store Demo" with original box, standard options, manuals,
etc. They probably have a wholesale license, buy items from
manufacturers that they know they can sell and operate on a smaller
profit margin than most. Another VK-8M is already listed at the same
Buy It Now price, $649, identical ad to the unit I bought from "dbang
music." I figure these are actually new. Walter j
