Subject:Re: ..Hammond clueless as usual?

Well, 2 answers Goff: No multinational corporation (or any business savvy corporation for that matter) would have a "whore division"....if it isn't profitable, it is relinquished, PERIOD. We might not be happy with the way Hammond does things, but the days of going back to tubes and hand wiring in a dual manual console organ are gone....until someone decides (like they did with analog synths-and even still, having owned an Alesis Andromeda and an old MiniMoog, that the new guys dont YET have it right, compared to the CS80 and the Voyager, although both are nice instruments) that that era needs to come back. When that does happen, can you imagine the cost??? Speakeasy products are not inexpensive, but you DO get what you paid for. Can you imagine the cost for a production line instrument like you/we want? If they want $20k (or $15k, whichever it is) for the digital with contacts version, you'll be weighing whether to buy a new handwired tube Hammond (suzuki) organ or a Cadillac
Escalade. For me, that will NOT happen, and I suspect for a lot of others it wont either.

Now, as far as Steve Buscemi/Laurens Hammond, I think he means the Trees Lounge Steve. ;)
