Subject:Questions as I ready new BX3 for gigging

Hello, group. My name is Bruce Mattson - old player/new CloneWheel
member from Massachusetts.

I've just replaced my XK2-based gig rig with a brand spankin' new
BX3, and so far I'm extremely pleased. Great tone, and as one member
recently noted to my amusement, it actually fights back when you
play - an unexpected benefit of its dual-manual heft. LUV - IN - IT!

Some questions for the BX3 (and CX3) vets...

I've decided not to put the included stand on the road. Too cool to
trash. What solutions have other BX3 players found for gigging? Tony
LaBrasca tried to get Korg to sell me a second stand, which I planned
to modify for gigging, but they can't figure out how to sell just the
stand. Seems Japan never expected anyone to want just the stand, so
they don't even list it as an available part. You go, Korg. And
although it sort of works, a BX3 on a scissor stand looks a lot like
an eight-year-old girl bench pressing a Crown Victoria. Unsettling.

Before I start building a hinged reproduction, are there any simple
yet elegant solutions I've overlooked?

Also, are there any helpful guidelines for programming Leslie spool
up/down times for maximum musicality and realism? I'm trying to get
the onboard Leslie to behave more like my beloved 147, which has a
quicker response overall than most of the presets I've encountered.
Trial and error works to a point, but I wonder if veteran
clonewheelers might not have identified some ratio or formula over
the hundreds of man hours of painstaking research that has preceded
my membership.

One more thought - is there an archive of user-created presets
anywhere that I might exploit? I find registrations that are tweaked
ad nauseum by gigging players to be the very best. If no archive
exists, I'd love to see some in the jazz/blues/rock categories from
anyone willing to share.

Thanks for the help.
