Hey Clone wheelers:
Re;Electro And Korg CX3 V2-BX3 keyboards
I own The Electro and New BX3
So I can give you a first hand impression.
The Korg BX3/CX3 V2 have the same new waterfall keyboard from
Fatar and it feels much better than the original CX3 V1 keyboard
w/ the lip. It actually feels very close to a 70's B3 action.
It has a very nice weight and resistance, very satisfying to play.
The Electro seem to have to have the same keyboard but for some
reason feels a bit different, (maybe different spring tension etc.)
The Korg's programmable shallow/deep keyboard trigger mode
is very useful for various playing styles. The new BX3/CX3
waterfall keyboard has no bounce or re-triggering problem,
it feels great IMO. I am very hard on the keyboard and no problems.
The Electro is preprogrammed to the equivalent of the "Deep" mode
on the CX,BX3,
Both keyboard feel very good and are great to play.
Another topic:
Electro Editing software?
One thing I would like to see from Clavia is an off line software
editor(PC/MAC)
for the Electro where you can access deeper parameters and setup the default
settings for the basic sounds
Organ
key click, perc. level,
Leslie: mic placement.spread, speed ramp times etc. H-R balance
Ep's-
Tine placement,
velocity cross fade values
Body
Tone etc.
I am not 100 % satisfied with the default organ settings and as the Korg allows
me to tweak to my taste I miss this on the Electro an off line editor would
make this a much more usable unit.
Any other opinions? Maybe we can lobby Clavia to do it.
