I entirely agree and have said so many times here. About three years ago I
bought a Roto, which sounded very lush in my living room, but after I used
it for several gigs it just didn't cut it. My guitar player loved it (for
guitar), but I thought it was totally lame for Hammond use - no kahunas. I
was really disappointed 'cause I wanted it to work out, and then I was
rereading over the H&K website and noticed that all their artist
endorsements were from guitar players (I think they've since changed it).
Finally, after several A/B tests with my G4, the Roto went back on eBay. I
never got the impression that H&K designed the Roto to use with Hammond
clones, that from the get go they considered it a guitar stomp box more on
line as a "better" Uni-vibe or Rotovibe.
No offense meant to those of you happy with your Roto; just my 2%.
